Our Deepest Condolences
Connie Kloepfer, one of three passengers aboard a boat crash on Lake Havasu last week, passed away today after succumbing to her injuries, it was reported.
Connie, 58, was the wife of boat driver Brad Kloepfer, who was killed when the boat flipped while running at high speed on Saturday, April 21. A third passenger, the couple’s friend Paul Selberg, 69, also died in the crash.
The boat, the M35 DCB catamaran Lickity Split, was owned by the Kloepfer’s friend J.P. O’Donoghue.
Brad Kloepfer, 57, was an avid boater well known in the speedboating community and was an active participant in the LOTO and Desert Storm shootouts. He had recently finished a 158-mph run at the Desert Storm event in Lake Havasu with the DCB, which was powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines.
All three of the boaters were wearing life jackets, and Kloepfer was wearing a safety kill switch, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Katie and Jamie Wright, sister Lori Thomas Davis, niece Melanie Brown, sister-in-law Kim Kloepfer and son-in-law Benjamin Braitsch.
